Baker’s Cyst – What to Do?

I have a Baker's cyst, what should I do?? Everyone has a Baker's cyst. It is located at the back of the knee (in the popliteal fossa) and can be felt. It is not good when the cyst is enlarged or ruptures and leaks.

Baker's cyst knee

An enlarged Baker's cyst indicates that:

  • The knee is under heavy load
  • There is irritation or an inflammatory process in the knee

If the knee is under heavy load, either the leg muscles are weak, or the load is so great that regardless of strength the entire joint cannot bear that much stress.

On the other hand, if there is a bigger, more specific problem inside the knee joint, it is necessary to determine what it is.

WHAT TO DO

As you can see, anyone who relates to this situation has no reason to worry. An enlarged cyst is an acute condition that most often subsides once the main cause of the knee problem is eliminated. And to know that, an examination is necessary.

In most cases, a Baker's cyst is enlarged because the knee is under great stress and the muscles are weak. Once the muscles are strengthened, the problem is gone. That is what we do at the TOP GYM training center — strengthening in a way that will not create additional irritation, while allowing existing irritation to resolve.
